Gather Opinions and Visualize Results Instantly #
FORMEPIC offers three simple ways to create polls. Create Using AI generates polls in seconds—describe your question, paste a URL to extract poll ideas, or upload a document to convert into poll questions with balanced answer options automatically. Create from scratch gives you complete design control to craft every detail. Import existing brings polls from other platforms by pasting their URL, eliminating the need to rebuild manually.
Once your poll is created, customization settings control exactly how votes work. Decide when results appear—after voting, always visible, or completely hidden. Enable anonymous voting for honest feedback, allow voters to change their minds, and display vote counts and percentages to drive engagement. These settings work together to create polls that gather genuine insights.
Accessing Poll Settings #
- Open your poll in the Builder
- Navigate to the right sidebar
- Click on the Settings tab
- Explore the organized settings sections
Display Settings #
Control the visual elements that appear on your poll to create a clean, focused voting experience.
Show Title #
Toggle to display or hide your poll’s title. The title frames your question and helps voters understand what they’re being asked.
Show Description #
Toggle to display or hide your poll’s description. Use descriptions to provide context, explain voting rules, or share why you’re asking the question.
FORMEPIC Branding #
Choose whether to display FORMEPIC branding. Removing branding creates a seamless white-label poll experience focused entirely on your content.
Results Display #
Control when and how poll results are revealed to voters. These strategic settings help you prevent bandwagon effects while maintaining engagement and transparency.
Results Visibility #
Choose when voters can see poll results:
After User Votes #
Results appear immediately after a user casts their vote. This creates instant engagement and rewards participation while preventing result-influenced voting.
Always Visible #
Results are visible before, during, and after voting. Use this for transparent polls where seeing current standings is part of the engagement strategy.
Never Show #
Results remain completely hidden from voters. Perfect for sensitive polls or when you want to prevent any result influence. You can still view results in your dashboard.
After Poll Closes #
Results are hidden until the poll closes (via status settings). Prevents bandwagon effects during active voting while ensuring transparency afterward.
Show Vote Count #
When enabled, displays the exact number of votes each option has received (e.g., “42 votes”). This creates transparency and shows poll participation levels. Only applies when results are visible based on your Results Visibility setting.
Show Percentages #
When enabled, displays vote percentages for each option (e.g., “35%”). This makes it easy to compare relative popularity without revealing absolute numbers. Only applies when results are visible based on your Results Visibility setting.
Pro Tip: Combine “After User Votes” with “Show Percentages” for the most engaging experience—voters get immediate feedback without bandwagon effects.
Voting Options #
Configure how users can participate in your poll, from flexible vote changes to anonymous participation.
Allow Multiple Votes #
When enabled, users can change their vote after submitting. Their original vote is replaced with the new selection, maintaining one vote per user.
Use cases:
- Polls where opinions might change over time
- Testing or preview periods before official voting
- Flexible team decision-making processes
Anonymous Voting #
When enabled, no voter information is collected or stored. This encourages honest, unbiased responses by removing concerns about identity tracking.
Important considerations:
- Cannot prevent duplicate votes when anonymous
- No email addresses collected for follow-up
- Perfect for sensitive topics or workplace surveys
- Ideal for honest feedback without fear of consequences
Note: Anonymous voting cannot be combined with user authentication. Choose between anonymity and verified voters based on your poll’s purpose.
Poll Status Settings #
Control when your poll accepts votes with powerful status management. See the “Changing Survey Status and Properties” article for comprehensive details on status settings, including automatically closing your poll based on vote limits or dates.
Tips and Tricks #
- Use “After User Votes” for most polls to maximize engagement while preventing bandwagon effects
- Hide results completely for controversial topics or sensitive workplace decisions
- Show results “Always Visible” for fun, low-stakes polls where transparency drives engagement
- Enable anonymous voting for honest feedback on sensitive topics
- Allow multiple votes for evolving decisions or long-running polls

Important Notes #

- Anonymous voting cannot be disabled after votes are collected
- Multiple votes setting affects all voters, not individual users
- Vote counts and percentages only show when results are visible
- Poll status settings require explicit saving via “Save Poll Status Settings” button
- Results are always visible to you in the dashboard regardless of visibility settings
Common Issues & Troubleshooting #
Results Not Showing to Voters #
Check your Results Visibility setting. If set to “Never Show” or “After Poll Closes”, voters won’t see results. Also ensure “Show Vote Count” or “Show Percentages” is enabled.
Users Can’t Change Their Vote #
Verify that “Allow Multiple Votes” is enabled in Voting Options. If anonymous voting is enabled, vote changes may not be trackable.
Duplicate Votes Appearing #
If anonymous voting is enabled, there’s no way to prevent duplicates. Consider disabling anonymous voting if vote integrity is critical, or use conditional enabling with submission limits.
Percentages Don’t Add to 100% #
This is normal due to rounding. Percentages are calculated independently for each option. Small discrepancies (1-2%) are expected and don’t indicate errors.
Results Visible Before Voting #
Check that Results Visibility is not set to “Always Visible”. Change to “After User Votes” to hide results until after participation.
Can’t Enable Anonymous Voting #
Anonymous voting may conflict with other settings like required authentication. Remove authentication requirements or other voter identification settings first.
