How to Create a Custom Thank You Page #

Step 1: Access Thank You Page Settings #

  1. Open your form, quiz, poll, or survey in the Form Builder
  2. In the right sidebar, click on the Thank You Page panel
  3. The Thank You Page settings will open

Step 2: Select Display Option #

  1. Choose “Show a Thank You Page after submission” (this is the default option)
  2. This will display your custom thank you page instead of redirecting to another URL

Step 3: Enable Design Matching (Optional) #

  1. Find the “Match Form Design” toggle in the settings
  2. Turn it ON to automatically apply your form’s colors, fonts, and styling to the thank you page
  3. Turn it OFF if you want the thank you page to use default styling
  4. Click the Preview button next to the toggle to see how your thank you page will look

Step 4: Customize Your Message #

  1. Use the Rich Text Editor to create your custom message
  2. Format your text using the toolbar options:
  • Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough
  • Headings (H1, H2, H3)
  • Text alignment (left, center, right)
  • Bullet lists and numbered lists
  • Text color and background color
  • Font size adjustments
  • Links and embedded images

Step 5: Add Dynamic Field Values #

  1. Click the “Add Field” button in the editor toolbar
  2. Select which form field value you want to insert
  3. The field will be added as a placeholder (e.g., {{field_name}})
  4. When a user submits the form, the placeholder will be replaced with their actual response
  5. You can insert multiple field values throughout your message

Step 6: Preview Your Thank You Page #

  1. Click the Preview button to see how your thank you page will appear
  2. The preview shows your design with placeholder text for dynamic fields
  3. Close the preview when done reviewing

Step 7: Save Your Settings #

  1. Click the Save button at the bottom of the Thank You Page panel
  2. Your custom thank you page is now active
  3. Test it by submitting your form to see the final result

Requirements #

  • Your form must have at least one field to use dynamic field insertion
  • Field labels should be clear and descriptive for easy identification in the editor
  • Images inserted into thank you pages must be accessible via URL
  • Design matching requires your form to have design settings configured

Tips and Tricks #

  • Use Clear Formatting: Large, bold headings grab attention and reinforce the completion message
  • Center Your Content: Centered text creates a professional, polished look
  • Add Visual Elements: Include checkmarks, celebration emojis, or brand logos to make the page memorable
  • Confirm Key Information: Echo back important details (name, email, order number) to reassure users
  • Provide Next Steps: Tell users what happens next or what actions they should take
  • Include Contact Information: Add a support email or phone number in case users have questions
  • Test Dynamic Fields: Submit test entries to verify that field values appear correctly
  • Keep It Concise: Thank you pages should be clear and scannable—avoid long paragraphs
  • Use Consistent Branding: Enable “Match Form Design” to maintain visual consistency
  • Add Social Proof: Include testimonials or trust badges to reinforce confidence
  • Create Urgency: For offers or time-sensitive information, include countdown text or deadlines
  • Mobile Optimization: Preview on mobile devices to ensure text is readable and properly formatted

Important Notes #

  • Changes to the thank you page take effect immediately—no need to republish your form
  • Dynamic field values only work for fields that respondents actually filled out
  • If a field is left empty, the placeholder will show as blank in the thank you page
  • Rich text formatting applies to the entire thank you page, not individual sections
  • Images must be hosted online (provide image URL)—you cannot upload images directly to the editor
  • The thank you page does not support JavaScript or custom code for security reasons
  • Field placeholders use the exact field label—if you rename a field, update the placeholders
  • The thank you page appears after successful submission, not if validation errors occur
  • Design matching applies colors and fonts but not layout or spacing settings
  • Thank you pages work across all form types: Forms, Surveys, Quizzes, and Polls

Common Issues & Troubleshooting #

Dynamic Fields Not Showing Values #

Issue: Field placeholders show as {{field_name}} instead of actual values

Solutions:

  • Verify the field label exactly matches the placeholder text (case-sensitive)
  • Ensure the field was actually filled out by the respondent
  • Check that you’ve saved the thank you page settings after adding fields
  • Test with a real form submission, not just the preview

Design Not Matching Form #

Issue: Thank you page doesn’t reflect form’s colors and fonts

Solutions:

  • Verify that “Match Form Design” toggle is turned ON
  • Ensure your form has design settings configured in the Design panel
  • Save the thank you page settings after enabling design matching
  • Refresh the preview to see updated design

Images Not Displaying #

Issue: Images appear broken or don’t load

Solutions:

  • Verify the image URL is publicly accessible
  • Check that the URL starts with https:// (not http://)
  • Ensure the image host allows embedding (some sites block external access)
  • Test the image URL in a browser to confirm it loads
  • Use image hosting services like Imgur, Cloudinary, or your website’s media library

Formatting Not Saving #

Issue: Text formatting reverts to default after saving

Solutions:

  • Ensure you click the Save button after making formatting changes
  • Try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the page
  • Check that you’re using supported formatting options
  • Avoid copying formatted text from Word—use the editor’s formatting toolbar instead

Preview Not Updating #

Issue: Preview shows old content even after making changes

Solutions:

  • Make sure you’ve clicked outside the editor to apply changes before previewing
  • Close and reopen the preview dialog
  • Refresh the entire page if the preview remains stuck
  • Verify that you saved the settings before previewing
